Peta India has implored the Delhi government to outlaw the keeping, breeding, and sale of aggressive foreign dog breeds after a recent pit bull attack critically injured a young boy.
The organization addressed a letter to Delhi's chief secretary and Cantonment Board CEO, pressing for a ban on breeds known for aggression and fighting, such as pit bull terriers and Rottweilers.
Peta India also demands strict enforcement of existing animal welfare rules to close illegal pet shops and breeders, while promoting the adoption of community dogs to curb similar incidents.
