A Thiruvananthapuram court on Monday rejected the bail application of activist Rahul Easwar, remanding him to judicial custody amidst allegations of social media defamation.
Thiruvananthapuram Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Elsa Catherine George adjudicated the case, citing evidence that Easwar had been involved in similar defamation cases previously.
While Easwar contends that he did not disclose the complainant's identity, police presented videos suggesting otherwise. As developments unfold, Congress leader Sandeep Warrier has also filed for anticipatory bail in connection to the same incident.
