An international authority tasked with overseeing the reconstruction of Gaza, called the Board of Peace and chaired by US President Donald Trump, is expected to be announced by year-end. This body will manage Gaza under a two-year renewable UN mandate, supported by Middle Eastern and Western leaders.
A committee of Palestinian technocrats will be established for day-to-day administration. The announcement of this committee is expected during a meeting between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later this month. Meanwhile, an armed International Stabilization Force is anticipated to ensure security and the disarmament of Hamas.
Though the ceasefire is still fragile, plans are in motion for the deployment of the international force by early 2026. Ongoing talks focus on the disarmament of Hamas and a potential pathway toward Palestinian statehood, despite Israeli opposition. Funding and specific rebuilding plans for Gaza remain undetermined.
