Amidst the winter chill of Bengal's countryside, Sunali Khatun was wheeled into Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital, signaling the end of an arduous journey home. Absent was her husband, Danesh, separated during their detention under false charges of illegal entry into Bangladesh.

Sunali's return follows a Supreme Court directive, addressing her wrongful deportation by Delhi Police earlier this year. She was pushed across the Malda border back to Bangladesh, where she endured solitary confinement for over a hundred days before her eventual repatriation.

With her children by her side and healthcare provided, Sunali finds solace, though her fight continues, as she awaits the potential return of other wrongly deported citizens. Her case remains under watchful eyes, reflecting broader implications on deportation policies.
