India Leads Humanitarian Efforts in Cyclone-Hit Sri Lanka

India has taken the lead in humanitarian efforts following Cyclone Ditwah's devastation in Sri Lanka. High Commissioner Santosh Jha met with Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath to discuss ongoing cooperation in reconstruction and rehabilitation.
Operation Sagar Bandhu was launched to deliver critical aid swiftly. India's comprehensive response includes over 58 tonnes of relief material and medical support, including a field hospital near Kandy that treated 400 patients in 24 hours.
The Indian Air Force and National Disaster Response Force conducted rescue operations, evacuating 150 people, including stranded Indians. With cooperation from Sri Lankan authorities, these teams continue to provide essential aid and rebuild affected communities.
