Netanyahu and Trump Plan Second Phase for Gaza Peace
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans to meet U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss the second phase of Trump's Gaza peace plan, which aims to establish a new Palestinian government and end Hamas's rule. Ongoing negotiations have seen hostages and prisoners exchanged, with violence subsided but not ceased.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that he is set to meet U.S. President Donald Trump later this month, discussing the progression of Trump's Gaza peace plan.
Netanyahu, in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, outlined that discussions will focus on bringing peace to Gaza by ending Hamas's rule and setting up an interim Palestinian government. Talks concerning these aims are being actively pursued.
The initial phase of the plan is nearing completion, with violence reduced following a truce. Hostage exchanges have occurred, with Palestinian detainees released in return for hostages from Hamas. Both sides appear committed to fostering a more stable environment.
