A tragic accident occurred on Chinhat-Deva Road in Barabanki on Sunday, where a student and his grandfather lost their lives after a speeding truck collided with their motorcycle, local police reported.

Identified as 20-year-old Ayush Yadav, the student had just completed his undergraduate exam at Sai PG College in the afternoon. While on his way home with his 59-year-old grandfather, Ramswaroop, their motorcycle was struck by an oncoming truck near Barethi crossing.

The impact was catastrophic, leading to fatal injuries for both Ayush and Ramswaroop. Despite being rushed to the hospital, they were pronounced dead on arrival. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, but authorities have since seized the truck and are pursuing legal action, according to Circle Officer Sangam Kumar.
