The Puducherry police are implementing rigorous regulations for the upcoming Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam public meeting on December 9, featuring the party leader, Vijay. The Senior Superintendent of Police, R Kalaivanan, announced these measures, focusing on crowd management and safety, after rejecting permission for a road show.
Attendance at the Expo ground event will be capped at 5,000, and individuals from neighboring Tamil Nadu will be barred from the venue to prevent inconvenience. Admission requires a QR code pass issued by the TVK. Children, pregnant women, and the elderly are also restricted from entering the meeting area.
The police have coordinated with the meeting organizers to ensure the availability of essential services such as drinking water, toilet facilities, ambulances, fire engines, and first aid teams. Parking will be arranged at designated areas around Puducherry. The denial of a road show underscores the emphasis on a controlled public meeting environment.
