Illegal Transport of Beef Stopped: Arrests Made

Two individuals were arrested for illegally transporting beef and cattle parts without a license in Srirangapatna. The goods vehicle was stopped during a night operation. In a significant operation, police have arrested two individuals, Arbaz Khan and Mohammad Samil, for allegedly transporting beef and cattle parts illegally in Srirangapatna district. The suspects were apprehended following a late-night interception of their goods vehicle on Sunday.

The vehicle, traveling from Hunsur to Ramanagara, was initially stopped by members of a local Hindu organization who alerted the police. Upon inspection, officers discovered various cattle parts, leading to the immediate detention of the driver and his accomplice.

Police have registered a case under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act and the Indian Motor Vehicles Act as investigations are underway. Samples of the seized meat have been sent for forensic examination to ascertain further details about the consignment's source and destination.
