The Economic Offences Wing of the Pune Police has unearthed crucial documents in a controversial land deal tied to the family of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The original sale deed and power of attorney linked to Parth Pawar have been recovered from the accused, Shital Tejwani.
The police have initiated steps to freeze Tejwani's bank accounts, who held the power of attorney in this high-profile case involving the Mundhwa land deal. This revelation is part of a broader investigation into the Rs 1,800 crore land, which was allegedly sold illegally for Rs 300 crore.
In a related turn, Ravindra Taru, a sub-registrar, has been detained for allegedly enabling the sale deed, despite the land being government property. The ongoing investigation has also implicated another partner in the deal, Digvijay Patil, alongside Tejwani.
