The Telangana BJP has condemned the INDIA bloc's attempts to impeach Madras High Court Judge G R Swaminathan over his ruling on allowing a traditional lamp to be lit at a temple in Tamil Nadu. Party chief spokesperson N V Subhash described the move as an "unprecedented and dangerous attack" on the judiciary by Congress, DMK, and allied parties.
Raising concerns about the opposition's attitude towards Constitutional institutions, Subhash questioned whether the BJP or the opposition was undermining these bodies. He accused the Congress-led opposition of engaging in 'reckless appeasement politics' that targets Hindu cultural freedoms.
Following DMK-led opposition MPs submitting a motion in the Parliament, N V Subhash urged the Congress to justify its actions against a judge who upheld Hindu traditions. He criticized senior Congress leaders, including Priyanka Vadra, for not supporting judicial independence and respecting India's plural ethos.
