The Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) has leveled accusations against the ruling National Conference (NC), alleging it is using the absence of statehood as an excuse for not fulfilling electoral promises. This was outlined in the PDP's latest edition of its newsletter, Speak Up.
In a critical review, the PDP claimed the NC has not met expectations in key areas such as unemployment, reservation policies, and the provision of electricity. It argues that, despite economic challenges and the dire need for reform, the government is preoccupied with initiatives like the installation of prepaid meters.
The newsletter pointed out that, as temperatures drop, Kashmiris were hoping for reduced electricity rates to cope with harsh weather conditions. Instead, the government persistently installed prepaid meters. Additionally, PDP criticized the government's home demolition strategies and asserted that local Muslims face discrimination, echoing sentiments across other regions like UP and Bihar.
