An alarming case of child trafficking has emerged in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, with 27 children allegedly being trafficked to Nepal under the guise of offering them a superior education and lifestyle, according to police sources.

The situation unraveled following the daring escape of two young victims who managed to return home and relay their harrowing experience to their families. Acting swiftly, law enforcement sent a team to the children's village, uncovering further that 11 children from the village had been enticed away to Nepal, four of whom have already returned.

Superintendent of Police Amit Renu confirmed that five children remain in Nepal as targeted efforts continue to repatriate them. Additionally, reports involving 16 more children from different areas within the district have surfaced, yet no formal complaints have been lodged. Authorities are maintaining discretion as they press on with their investigations.
