Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt in Khunti: Six Arrested

Six individuals have been apprehended in Jharkhand's Khunti district following the alleged abduction of a businessman and his associate, police confirmed on Sunday. This startling incident transpired in the Tilmi area, falling under Jariyagarh police station, where a demand for Rs 10 lakh ransom was made.
The victims were rescued by law enforcement after prompt action, according to Torpa Sub-divisional Police Officer Christopher Kerketta. The businessman, identified as 65-year-old Haru Mukherjee, was visiting his associate, 40-year-old Vijay Oraon, in the area to recruit labor for a brick kiln project.
The suspects, traced back to various parts of Khunti, were found possessing a four-wheeler, three motorcycles, and five mobile phones. The police have lodged an FIR and are pressing forward with further investigations.
