A local court has refused to take cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) chargesheet in the National Herald money laundering case against Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. The court stated the chargesheet lacked jurisdiction, as there was no FIR, prompting the Congress to declare the prosecution politically motivated and illegal.
The Congress accused the Modi government of orchestrating a decade-long political vendetta against the opposition party, highlighting the court's ruling as a vindication of their stand. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and general secretary K C Venugopal emphasized that the verdict exposed the malicious intent behind the government's actions.
Despite the court's decision, the Enforcement Directorate has announced plans to appeal. The Congress remains committed to fighting what it perceives as politically driven attacks, asserting that truth and justice will ultimately prevail in India.
