Mumbai Customs department officials have executed a significant drug bust at the city's international airport, netting hydroponic weed valued at a whopping Rs 33.42 crore. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 11 passengers.
According to officials, the operation was conducted between December 11 and 15 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, leading to the seizure of 33.422 kg of marijuana. The drugs were smuggled into India from Bangkok.
The apprehended passengers are now facing legal proceedings under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as investigations continue into this high-stakes operation.
