He was apprehended by the Vigilance Unit on Monday evening in Rohini. The complainant, a Ghaziabad resident, alleged that the officer demanded money to prepare a favourable bail report in a case involving the complainant's mother.
Initially, the sub-inspector demanded Rs 2 lakh, which was negotiated down to Rs 50,000. A previous payment of Rs 5,000 had already been made, and the conversation was recorded.
