Constable on the Run After Tragic Family Attack in Banda

In Banda, Uttar Pradesh, a constable named Gaurav Kumar allegedly attacked his wife and daughter, leading to the child's death and the wife being seriously injured. The incident prompted a police search after Kumar fled the scene, and his belongings were found near the Yamuna river.

A harrowing incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district, where a police constable allegedly attacked his family with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in the tragic death of his three-year-old daughter and serious injuries to his wife.

The suspect, identified as Gaurav Kumar, 35, is accused of using an axe on his wife Shivani, 32, and their daughter Pari after a domestic dispute, according to Circle Officer Saurabh Singh. The brutal attack occurred at around 9 pm on Wednesday.

In the aftermath, Kumar reportedly locked the door and fled the scene. Authorities were alerted by the family's landlord, leading to the immediate transport of the victims to the Banda Medical College, where young Pari succumbed to her injuries. Shivani was later referred to Kanpur for advanced treatment. Police recovered Kumar's personal belongings near the Yamuna river, but he remains at large, with a manhunt underway.
