Police have initiated a detailed investigation following the abduction of Sadique A K, a local who recently won a Rs 1 crore lottery. The prized Sthree Sakthi ticket was forcibly taken from him by a gang at Peravoor, authorities stated on Thursday.

The incident unfolded when Sadique was negotiating an illicit sale of the ticket to avoid tax deductions. A five-member gang, posing as buyers, allegedly took him and his friend by force. While his friend was later released, Sadique was threatened, and the ticket was stolen.

Following a complaint by Sadique, one suspect, identified as Suhaib, has been detained. Police have resolved to apprehend the remaining gang members imminently, utilizing extracted details. The case is currently filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for criminal activities, including wrongful confinement and dacoity.
