The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on the Faridabad residence of former Haryana Cabinet Minister and senior Congress leader, Mahendra Pratap Singh, on Thursday. This prompted Congress to claim it as a political conspiracy.
The searches happened at Singh's house in Sainik Colony, where his son Vijay Pratap Singh, also a Congress leader, resides. Vijay had previously contested the Badkhal Assembly seat under a Congress ticket.
About 17 ED officers arrived at the scene in four vehicles to carry out the operation. Reactions from Congress have been strong, with claims of political targeting by the BJP-led Central government. Meanwhile, local police maintained a significant presence in the area as the raid continued through the evening. No official statement from the ED has been released as of yet.
