The Jharkhand High Court addressed serious concerns on Friday regarding a police raid at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office, terming the action as seemingly 'preplanned.'
In a significant move, Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwide directed the ED to include the Union home secretary in its litigation, aimed at ensuring protection against any future interferences. The court mandated the deployment of CRPF/BSF personnel for the security of the ED office.
Further, the court held Ranchi's Senior Superintendent of Police accountable for the office's security and stayed the ongoing police probe into ED officers, a case triggering from a former state employee's allegation. Concurrently, the ED seeks a CBI-led investigation into the incident, citing undue police intervention.
