A former Air Force personnel in Dehradun has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for the rape of his minor daughter. The verdict was delivered by a special POCSO judge.

In her judgment, Special Judge Archana Sagar criticized the father for violating his responsibility to protect his child, stating that the crime severely impacted the victim's physical and mental health. The court emphasized that no leniency would be granted in such cases.

In addition to the prison term, the judge imposed a Rs 25,000 fine on the convict and directed him to pay Rs 3 lakh in compensation to his daughter. The victim revealed that the abuse began when she was just a child, and her father's threats kept her silent until recently.
