Gaza Peace Initiative: Key Leaders Named to Board of Peace
The White House has named leaders including Ajay Banga and Marco Rubio to the 'Board of Peace' for Gaza's redevelopment as part of Donald Trump's plan to end conflict. The Board will focus on governance, reconstruction, and investment. Major General Jasper Jeffers will lead security operations.
The White House has announced key appointments to the newly-formed 'Board of Peace' as part of former President Donald Trump's comprehensive initiative to resolve the Gaza conflict. Among those named are Ajay Banga, the Indian-American President of the World Bank Group, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This strategic board is designed to lead efforts in redevelopment and peace restoration in Gaza.
Released on Friday, the list of Executive Board members features notable figures like US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, and other influential leaders. They are tasked with overseeing crucial portfolios including governance, regional relations, reconstruction, and investment attraction for Gaza's stability and future success, as detailed by the White House.
Furthermore, as part of the initiative, Major General Jasper Jeffers will take charge of security operations as the Commander of the International Stabilisation Force. In partnership with Israel and key Arab nations, the US remains committed to demilitarisation and ensuring the safe delivery of humanitarian aid as part of this transition to peace. This plan, which encompasses a 20-point roadmap, is aimed at sustainable peace and economic development in the region.
