The final voter lists for all 30 Assembly constituencies in Puducherry have been released, revealing that women voters have surpassed men in numbers. A total of 9.44 lakh voters are registered, comprising 4.44 lakh men, 5 lakh women, and 139 third-gender voters. District Election Officer A Kulothungan announced the publication of the final electoral rolls.
Following directives from the Election Commission, a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls was conducted from October 27, 2025, to February 14, 2026. This revision involved a rigorous process with 100 per cent physical verification by Booth Level Officers, leading to the removal of ineligible electors, including those who had passed away or moved permanently.
Initially published on December 16, 2025, the draft rolls saw significant changes, including the elimination of 1.03 lakh ineligible voters. During the statutory period for claims and objections, 42,719 eligible electors were added, and 16,619 ineligible ones were removed. The finalized list, reflecting these updates, can be viewed at polling stations and Voter Facilitation Centres.
