The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is gearing up to deploy its troops extensively in anticipation of the upcoming elections in five Indian states, according to Director General GP Singh. Singh articulated the paramilitary force's preparedness on Thursday, revealing several rounds of strategic discussions have taken place with the Election Commission and local authorities.

The states poised for assembly elections, including Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, will see a robust presence of CRPF forces. 'We are fully prepared, having conducted multiple deliberations with both the Election Commission and the police forces of the states concerned,' Singh told PTI after attending the CRPF Director General's Parade.

The CRPF, designated as the national nodal agency for deploying central paramilitary forces for elections, is ensuring operational readiness. When questioned about the potential for single-phase polling in Assam, Singh confidently stated their readiness, irrespective of the Election Commission's plans or directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
