A 35-year-old man has been taken into custody for allegedly threatening a bomb explosion near a mosque in Ullal through an Instagram post, according to local police reports.
The suspect, identified as Shankar Masthappa Mogera from Devinagar, Bhatkal, reportedly posted the incendiary message on March 2. The post was flagged as inciting communal tensions and disturbing public peace, prompting police action.
Authorities say the suspect aimed to provoke religious discord, and he now faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A mobile device linked to the post has been confiscated for further investigation. Mogera appeared before a jurisdictional court in Mangaluru as the legal process continues.
