Karnataka Strengthens Cybersecurity: Cybercrime Units and Innovation Ecosystem

Karnataka's government has intensified efforts to tackle cybercrime with specialized units and expanded infrastructure. Over 43 Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics police stations have been created under the initiative. Collaboration with private sectors is crucial to enhance cybersecurity measures against evolving threats like dark web activities and financial fraud.

The Karnataka government has reinforced its commitment to combating cybercrime by setting up specialized units across the state and expanding cyber police infrastructure. This announcement was made by Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara during the inauguration of CIDECODE, the state's third annual cybercrime investigation summit.

In his address, Parameshwara highlighted Karnataka's standing as a global hub of innovation, especially in Bengaluru. He emphasized the state's robust digital ecosystem and the government's dedication to ensuring cybersecurity for its citizens. So far, 43 Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics police stations have been established to enhance security measures.

Furthermore, Parameshwara stressed the importance of partnerships with private sector companies and international organizations in addressing emerging cyber threats. This collaborative approach is essential for tackling issues like dark web activities, cryptocurrency monitoring, financial fraud, and bolstering digital forensics capabilities. The ongoing development of the state's Cyber Crime Investigation Training and Research Centre further strengthens this initiative.
