Monu Manesar, accused in the 2023 Junaid and Nasir murder case, has been released on bail from Rajasthan's Sevar Central Jail after nearly two-and-a-half years of judicial custody. The bail, granted by the Rajasthan High Court, facilitated his release amidst heavy security and a gathering of supporters.
Manesar's release on March 7 followed the completion of legal formalities and resulted in a significant police presence. Supporters and cow vigilantes from Haryana assembled outside the jail, prompting authorities to deploy additional forces to maintain order.
The case, involving the charred bodies of Junaid and Nasir found in Haryana's Bhiwani district, led to allegations of kidnapping and murder by Bajrang Dal members, charges the group denies. Manesar had been taken into custody for alleged conspiracy and connections to communal violence in Nuh.
