Concealed beneath a large consignment of velvet wallpaper, the illegal cargo was discovered during a routine check in the Talasari area on Friday morning. Superintendent of State Excise (Palghar), Ganesh Bargaje, confirmed that the alcohol was strictly intended for sale within Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
The driver of the truck was detained and a legal case has been filed under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act at the Talasari police station. This bust reflects ongoing efforts to curb the illicit liquor trade across state borders.
