In a significant escalation of hostilities, Israel has expanded its military operations to the heart of Beirut, targeting Iranian commanders of the Quds Force. The drone strike, which took place early Sunday, marks the first incursion into Lebanon's capital since the conflict with Hezbollah reignited.
The Israeli military claimed the attack focused on key figures responsible for orchestrating terror activities against Israel. In response, counterstrikes have heavily impacted Lebanon, resulting in an alarming death toll, with the country's health ministry reporting at least 394 fatalities, including women and children.
Israel's aggressive stance comes amid warnings directed at Iranian officials in Lebanon to evacuate promptly or face the consequences. The ongoing confrontations have led to a heavily strained region, with ordinary life disrupted by violence and mounting casualties.
