In a significant development, the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) has recorded more than 1 crore public grievances over the last five years, according to a report presented to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The system, which empowers citizens to file complaints online, received a staggering 1,11,89,384 grievances from 2021 through February 2026. This includes 20,00,590 grievances registered in 2021 alone, with consistent numbers following in subsequent years up to 2025.

Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh stated that the government is actively enhancing the grievance redressal process to ensure quicker resolutions. Notable measures, such as reducing the standard resolution time to 21 days and deploying dedicated grievance cells, are part of ongoing efforts to improve efficiency. Monthly reviews keep ministries and states accountable to ensure timely responses.
