As Eid-ul-Fitr is just a day away, heightened security measures have been implemented across Dwarka district in Southwest Delhi. This response follows the March 4 killing in the Uttam Nagar area, which remains tense.
More than 100 pickets have been established, with personnel stationed on rooftops and at key junctions to monitor sensitive areas closely. Security around the Uttam Nagar East metro station has been enhanced after the Delhi High Court responded to fears of potential unrest during the festival.
The recent violence began with a tragic altercation between two families on Holi, leading to a homicide and subsequent public protests. In efforts to prevent further incidents, police focus has intensified around communal gathering places, and social media is being monitored to contain inflammatory content.
