Lucknow Railways Plot Foiled: Terror Module Busted

Four members of a suspected terror module planning attacks on railway installations in Lucknow were sent to five days of police custody. The group, linked to Pakistan-based handlers via social media, was plotting arson attacks on infrastructure and had conducted reconnaissance in multiple cities.

Four individuals suspected of being part of a terror module have been apprehended and placed in five-day police custody in connection with a plot targeting railway installations in Lucknow.

According to Additional Director General (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash, the group's primary operative, known as Saqib alias 'Devil,' established connections with handlers based in Pakistan through social media channels, with Aqib from Dubai as a key interlocutor.

The module reportedly engaged in reconnaissance missions at critical sites, planning to disrupt public order through acts like setting fire to trucks carrying gas cylinders and targeting railway signal systems. Anticipated attacks were thwarted by the Anti-Terrorism Squad before they could be launched.
