In a significant crackdown, Punjab Police have dismantled a cross-border drug and arms smuggling module. The operation led to the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of 4.108 kg of heroin, four sophisticated pistols, and five live cartridges.

The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, stated that preliminary investigations showed links between the accused and Pakistan-based smugglers, facilitated through social media. The individuals were believed to have been receiving drugs and arms for distribution across Punjab.

A case has been registered under the NDPS and Arms Acts at the Cantonment police station in Amritsar. Authorities are probing further to uncover additional connections and identify other involved parties.
