Parole Jumper Nabbed: Justice Delivered After 27 Years

A man convicted of murdering a rickshaw puller has been apprehended by Delhi Police after eluding officials for nearly three decades. Mohammad Nawab, sentenced to life in prison for the 1998 murder, evaded capture after his 2025 appeal was dismissed, leading to his arrest as a parole jumper.
The incident, which took place near Delhi Gate, involved Nawab assaulting the victim with a stone. Despite being rushed to LNJP Hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries. Nawab, originally from Ranjeet Nagar, was apprehended after strategic police surveillance.
Nawab had been living under the radar, operating a butcher shop in Old Delhi during his time on the run. His previous involvement with the law included cases under the Arms Act. Police have lodged him in Tihar Jail, and further proceedings are ongoing, authorities confirmed.
