The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, announced transformative decisions to bolster public safety and rural economies. These initiatives, unveiled on Friday, include the creation of a Directorate of Forensic Science Services, a move reflecting the state’s commitment to efficient crime investigation.
Revamping its forensic capabilities, the Punjab government will launch new technical divisions like DNA, ballistics, and cyber forensics, and establish 28 Mobile Forensic Units across the state. This restructuring aims to streamline evidence processing and hasten crime resolution.
Additionally, the Cabinet introduced a farm stay policy to enhance rural livelihoods by promoting tourism. This strategy focuses on eco-friendly construction and sustainable farming, allowing farmers to capitalize on Punjab’s cultural richness while maintaining agricultural integrity. A regulatory framework eases these transitions, fostering inclusive economic growth.
