Key Bureaucratic Appointments in the Indian Government
Several senior bureaucratic appointments have been announced by the Indian government, including Saurabh Vijay as CEO of UIDAI and Manish Bhardwaj as Adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs. These appointments aim to strengthen the administrative framework of various ministries and departments across the country.
In a significant reshuffle within the Indian bureaucracy, senior officer Saurabh Vijay has been appointed as the CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Vijay, an experienced 1998-batch IAS officer from Maharashtra, will take on this pivotal role in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
Manish Bhardwaj, previously Secretary of the National Disaster Management Authority, will now serve as Adviser in the Inter State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Bhardwaj's transition is part of broader efforts to enhance inter-ministerial coordination and disaster management preparedness.
In related developments, Nilkanth S Avhad from Punjab, a 1999-batch officer, replaces Bhardwaj at NDMA. Simultaneously, Priyank Bharti will take on dual roles as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and Director General of the National Informatics Centre.
