Duo Nabbed in Connection with Murshidabad Ashram Bombing

Mumbai police arrested two men at Borivali railway station in connection with a bomb incident near an ashram in West Bengal's Murshidabad district. The pair, residents of Berhampore, were on the run since the May 12 blasts. They have admitted to their involvement.

In a dramatic turn of events, Mumbai police apprehended two individuals at Borivali railway station on suspicion of hurling bombs near an ashram in Murshidabad, West Bengal. The suspects have been identified as Rocky Khan, age 23, and Shahadat Sarkar, age 35.

The duo had been evading law enforcement ever since the incident occurred on May 12. Thanks to a critical tip-off, officers from the crime intelligence unit intercepted them as they were traveling on the Gitanjali Express from Kolkata to Mumbai.

The accused, who have now admitted their involvement, allegedly threw three crude bombs, causing considerable alarm but no casualties. They face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Explosive Substances Act. The Bombay court has granted a transit remand for further proceedings.
