The Enforcement Directorate has taken decisive action by provisionally attaching assets valued at an astounding Rs 700.27 crore. These assets include three prime properties located in Mumbai's upscale Worli area, linked to the notorious late gangster Iqbal Mirchi and his associates.
In addition to domestic assets, overseas properties in Dubai, valued at Rs 203.27 crore, have also been seized. This action falls under the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act, reflecting the international scope of Mirchi's alleged criminal enterprises.
The agency's investigation ties Mirchi to various organized crimes, such as drug trafficking and extortion, and reveals a complex web of money laundering facilitating asset acquisition across India and abroad.
