Dehradun Police filed a case against unknown individuals on Monday, a day after Bajrang Dal's large demonstration at the Ghantaghar area. The group's unauthorised blockade at the Clock Tower on Sunday resulted in significant traffic disturbances.
Videos from the scene captured protesters chanting slogans and confronting a woman on a scooter, insisting she join them. Upon her refusal, they attempted to force her to disperse from her vehicle. The incident included participation from several women protesters.
Police were compelled to redirect traffic, leading to alternate routes being used. SP (City) Pramod Kumar confirmed that the protest was in response to a video alleging Hindu employee harassment at a footwear store by Muslim staff. No formal complaint has been lodged with the police.
