A 13-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a field in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, police said on Sunday.

Shivam, a resident of Bana Ka Purwa village in Shukul Bazar area, was found dead in a field on Saturday afternoon. His body was later taken home by family members, who subsequently informed the police, SHO Vivek Verma told PTI.

''The body has been sent for post-mortem. No injury marks were found,'' Verma said, adding that the exact cause of death would be known only after the report is received.
