In a significant breakthrough, police in Madhya Pradesh have arrested Chandan Barole, a 33-year-old fugitive who had eluded capture for a month after allegedly murdering his father during a property dispute.
Barole's dramatic arrest came after officers located him hiding in a forest temple, acting on intelligence received on Monday. The suspect, who had threatened more violence, injured himself trying to escape capture by jumping off the temple roof.
The local police team, commended for their perseverance, will receive a Rs 10,000 reward for bringing Barole to justice, marking the end of a tense month-long search.
