The committee, chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar, includes members such as the census commissioner, retired IAS Durga Shankar Mishra, retired IPS Balaji Srivastava, and Dr. Shamika Ravi. The joint secretary from the Ministry of Home Affairs will serve as the member secretary.
