The Governor of Rajasthan has dismissed Devswaroop from his roles as vice chancellor of two universities following serious complaints. This action comes after allegations emerged about irregularities in appointments during his tenure as the vice chancellor of Rajasthan University.
An official statement from the governor's office revealed that a probe was conducted by a three-member inquiry committee led by Dr Bhagwati Prasad Saraswat. The findings confirmed the allegations, indicating that Devswaroop bypassed rules and favored selected candidates, including breaching UGC regulations for incorporating reserved category candidates.
Based on these findings, the governor decided to remove Devswaroop. The additional charges of the respective universities have been temporarily assigned to other vice chancellors, ensuring continued governance and oversight.
