Rajasthan Minister Faces Charges for Abusing, Threatening Policemen in Public

Gautam Kumar Dak, Rajasthan's Minister of State for Cooperation, has been charged following accusations of verbally abusing and threatening police officers in a public setting. The incident, which allegedly occurred in Chittorgarh, came to light after an audio recording appeared online, prompting an investigation.

In response to the charges, Dak issued a video statement proclaiming his innocence and distance from the circulating audio clip. The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the Dungla Police Station under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, addressing allegations of obstructing government work and criminal intimidation.

Station House Officer Shaitan Singh, who filed the complaint, reported that the minister had demanded the presence of two constables, Vishnu Kumar and Laxminarayan, with whom he allegedly used abusive language. The officer further claimed that Dak attempted to assault the policemen and made threats referencing past police transfers.

Witnesses suggest the minister's anger stemmed from his dissatisfaction over the police questioning an acquaintance, Dhanraj. The case continues as authorities examine evidence and testimonies.
