Pinarayi Vijayan, the Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, expressed concerns on Friday regarding the police chief's unexpected presence in the legislative assembly before the Governor's policy address. Vijayan noted that this occurrence was at odds with established protocols.
The police chief, Ravada Chandrasekhar, was observed in plain clothes accompanying Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, which drew notice. Vijayan expects that Speaker Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will address the issue with the police chief. Although unusual, Vijayan suggested the deviation from practice might have been accidental.
