The Bihar government has initiated a special unit aimed at recovering encroached lands belonging to monasteries, temples, and other religious trusts. This move came after a meeting in Patna led by Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal.
The new cell will comprise officials from pertinent departments such as Revenue, Law, and the Bihar State Religious Trust Board, focusing on legal coordination and eviction processes. The government plans to draft a Standard Operating Procedure to ensure clear and efficient action while updating and digitizing records of the religious institutions' lands.
