Ninth Arrest Made in Assam Fisheries Development Corporation Fraud

Padma Kanta Hazarika, a former Project Director, was arrested in Odisha in connection with financial misconduct at the Assam Fisheries Development Corporation, marking the ninth arrest in the ongoing investigation.

A key suspect in the Assam Fisheries Development Corporation financial fraud has been arrested in Odisha. The accused, Padma Kanta Hazarika, was detained in Puri and will be transferred to Guwahati with a four-day transit remand.

The anti-corruption probe has already seen eight arrests of government officials, including influential ACS officers. The investigation spans multiple cities such as Guwahati and Nagaon, targeting widespread financial misappropriation.
