Women interested in cyber security can register in free training program

The registration process for Cyber Sikshaa programme, initiated by Data Security Council of India (DSCI), Microsoft and Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA), started here on Thursday.

Women engineering graduates aged between 21 and 26 years, who are willing to pursue their career in cybersecurity, can be a part of this four-month free training programme. The scholarship is available for the candidates whose annual family income not exceeding Rs 7 lakh. The programme will comprise an interactive, four-month training course with a combination of theory, case studies and practical hands-on projects. The programme will also provide placement assistance.

Elaborating about the programme, CEO of APITA, Bhaskar Reddy said: “Andhra Pradesh Government is committed to adopt new technologies and provide the necessary skills to place the women in gainful and sustainable employment. This partnership with Microsoft and DSCI is the first step in that direction and we are hoping to replicate this success in the coming years and extend this program to many places in Andhra Pradesh.”

Director Philanthropies of Microsoft India, Manju Dhasmana, asserted, "Cyber Shikshaa endeavour is aimed at preparing a pool of industry ready women professionals that contribute significantly to the country’s agenda of safeguarding its cyber frontiers.”

Launched in September 2018, Cyber Shikshaa program aims to create a pool of skilled cybersecurity women professionals in the country in three years. In the first phase of the program, batches were commenced in Noida, Hyderabad and Patna. A few more training batches are scheduled to be held in Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Punjab.
