Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) on Wednesday initiated an inquiry into the Pollachi sex scandal case after receiving the requisite documents from the local police here on Wednesday. In Pollachi sex scandal, more than fifty women were lured and sexually harassed by a gang of four and the acts were video-graphed.
Inspector-general of police (IG), Sreedhar said, "The case will be investigated by 1 Superintendent of Police, 1 Deputy Superintendent of Police and 5 Inspectors. We will do the inquiry without any delay." Yesterday, Superintendent of Police, R Pandia Rajan told ANI that, four accused persons, identified as Sabarirajan, Sathish, Thirunavukarasu, and Vasant Kumar from Pollachi town of Coimbatore district, have been proved guilty of indulging in the sex extortion racket.
They have been arrested under Section 392, 354 (A), 354 (B) of the Indian Penal Code and 66A of Information Technology Act.
